[ Taïteul ] : Une tragi-comédie allégorique et sarcastique, mêlant inextricablement cirque, théâtre, danse et musique.
Dans un univers absurde, parfois drôle jusqu’à l’épouvante, se morfondent depuis la nuit des temps et sans doute pour quelques éternités encore, trois énergumènes : Jongleur, Acrobate et Musicienne. Des rescapés de l’Apocalypse ? Des otages atteints d’Alzheimer ? Des zombies ? Comme au fond des oubliettes de l’Histoire, s’évertuant en vain à ne pas perdre le peu de mémoire qui leur reste…

[ TAÏTEUL ]is the French phonetic transcription of [‘taitl]: the international phonetic notation of title. This is double irony : the first is an allusion to the need to name artistic work for it to exist – it can then be filed! - and the second is a denunciation of the fashion of giving English titles to French shows.
What is [ TAÏTEUL ]?
In [ TAÏTEUL ] the audience is immersed in the strange universe of three characters: Juggler, Acrobat and Musician.
Hostages of some unknown power – or of themselves? - they seem to be imprisoned in a sort of white box splattered with lists, drawings, graphical signs and marks. Falling objects seem to suggest that they might be in some forgotten well…
The audience is lifted into a hilarious and nightmarish fable, a succession of amusing situations where theatrical intensity, clownish inspiration, the power of juggling, music and acrobatics suspend judgement, leaving time for the deeper meaning of the show to appear later.
